Prior to establishing her interior design firm, Meg founded Margaret Elizabeth, a jewelry company whose designs were featured in the pages of Vogue, InStyle, and other prestigious publications. The brand's collections were available in department stores, boutiques worldwide, and its bespoke brick-and-mortar store in San Francisco.

Shackleton's transition to interior design began when she oversaw the construction and design of her own home in 2018. That project has since been used as the backdrop for photoshoots for brands such as Anthropology, Amber Interiors, Maisonette, Pottery Barn, Serena & Lily, Williams Sonoma Home, and more.
